This archive contains the update from AmiWin 2.12reg to
AmiWin 2.14reg.
No configuration files are overwritten during the installation.
If you have received any intermediate, pre-release versions
of AmiWin files (in particular aga-1 or aga-8 pre-release
drivers or xfont.library version 2.13), please restore the
original files (2.12) from your backup before installing the
update. If you do not have the original files any more,
please contact me directly (kruse@cs.ucf.edu).
Please use Installer 1.24 or higher to install this patch.
Versions 1.18 and lower, and some early versions of
Installer 2.x have bugs and do not work properly.
Installer 1.24 can be found on Aminet.
Users of AmiWin 2.11demo: Please DO NOT try to apply this patch
to your demo version of AmiWin. You need a separate archive,
labeled "AmiWin214dUpd.lha". It can be found on Aminet in gfx/x11.
Summary of most important changes (please see the "History"
chapter in the documentation for more details):
- fixed several bugs in aga-1.xsd, aga-8.xsd, rtg-1.xsd,
picasso-l-15.xsd and cybergraphx-15.xsd including
- crashes on AGA machines at more than 16 colors
- software failure 8000 0005 on Kick2.0x machines
- silent exit on Workbench 2.04 machines
- incorrect text rendering by 15/16-bit drivers
- added partial support for autoscroll screens to some drivers
- fixed some minor bugs in a few libraries and clients
- fixed font server access code in xfont.library
- added xclipboard, xcutsel, xmag, xstdcmap and editres to
the distribution. Please note that these programs are not
tested very well yet, and have only been made available
because I received several requests for them. In particular
editres should be considered "beta", at best. If you find
any problems with these programs I would appreciate your
response.
Enjoy,
Holger Kruse
